Joel Meets Pim Pim | US Open 2004

I was in New York with a few friends and during the Us Open 2004 and I was staying at the Hilton downtown. I knew that the Open was going on during that week, so I hoped I would run cross some tennis players in my hotel. We had the rule that if anyone saw a tennis player we would text message each other with the words "tennis pro alert". This was the signal to get to the hotel if we wanted an autograph.

Well... I deicided on one of those days to go to Central Park and play tennis and hang out for the day when my phone went off. I looked it there were the words "Tennis Pro Alert" I finished my tennis match, then called my friend. They told me who was staying and what floor he was on. It just so happened that he was on the same floor as my friend Susan.

A few days went by and there was no sign of him. Finally, one day I walked down to the lobby to get something and there was a guy holding a tennis bag. I knew he was too old to be a player so I walked up and asked who he was the coach for and he said Joachim and I was like ROCK ON! He said that Joachim was upstairs but would be coming down in a few minutes. I decided I better get to him first before everyone else does, so I did the only thing that I could think of.

I called Susan and said he is coming down the elevator in a minute, look out your room and tell me if you see him...she looked and saw him, so she ran down the hallway to stop him, and at this point I am high tailing it up to my room to grab some tennis balls for him to sign, then haul up the elevator to get to floor 36 and there as the doors opened, he and his girlfriend (HOTTIE SHE IS) were standing. He was really nice and took a few pictures with me and signed two tennis balls. Later on, I went to the open and watched him play. He won!
